Hey friends! I apologize for the delay in posting, I meant to post one last week but my time got away from me and school work overwhelmed my soul. But I am here today…so hello!

If there is one thing that a pilgrim was known for in the old days, it was for being people of peace. When you think of St. Francis of Assisi, I would be willing to bet you don’t think of him with a sword in hand. I know that a lot of us today are feeling the crush of the world around us or fear for the future. I also acknowledge that I don’t really have a lot to be afraid of in the States. I am a young, white, male Christian. Here, I might not face a lot of discrimination but I am friends with people who are LGBTQ, people of color, of different religions, different nationalities, or a different gender. I have no desire to pretend that I know what is going to happen or that it is all going to be okay. Because honestly, I don’t know what the future holds for any one of us. I know I am being incredibly encouraging right now. I cannot say that I understand completely but I can say that I want to. At this point in time, I cling to the promise of Christ who says “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Take a deep breath friends, remember who you are, where you came from, and that you are loved. Peace might not be in the world around us but we can cling to the one who gives peace.

I have no desire to get political (if you want political go to the cesspool that is the Facebook comment sections). Here, I want people to know they are heard and they are loved no matter where they come from, who they love, or what they’ve done…and I don’t think Jesus would have it any other way.
